Why should I do this MBA?
This MBA is unique in that it has been designed through a partnership between ACCA the largest global accounting body and Oxford Brookes University. The delivery is through use of specifically designed textbooks and Study Guides together with opportunities for interaction with other students from across the world and your tutor, through the Virtual Campus.
Is the MBA accredited?
Yes, the MBA is accredited by the Association of MBAs, AMBA.
Is this programme exclusively for ACCA members?
No, the Distance Learning MBA is open to anyone meeting our general MBA entry requirements. There is an option for ACCA members who receive some credit for the accountancy elements of their studies.
Who is my MBA awarded by?
You will be an enrolled as a student of Oxford Brookes University, who will make the award of the MBA. The MBA comes within the domain of the Business School which recently received a score of 24/24 in Business and Management and Economics by the UK Quality Assurance Agency.
How long does the programme take?
It is possible to complete the programme in 30 months but it may take longer if you have to retake modules. ACCA members may complete in 21 months but again it may take longer if you have to retake modules.
How many hours of study are involved?
You should be prepared to devote around 15 hours per week to studying. How long it takes will very much depend upon individual needs, abilities, learning styles and progression.
What support do I get on the MBA programme?
You are allocated a tutor for each module on the programme. There are opportunities through the e-learning seminar programme to discuss issues with tutors and other students form around the world. You can also contact your tutor at any time, by the mailbox on the Virtual Campus or telephone. The Programme Director and Course Manager are there to discuss issues that may be impacting on your studies and the MBA Programme Administrators help with any administrative issues.
What study materials will I receive?
Text books and Study Guides have been written specifically for each module. The Study Guide is structured to guide you through the programme and to direct you to sources in the Virtual Library and the Resource Centre on the Virtual Campus. For the Research Methods module a leading textbook is supplied, accompanied by a study guide.
How do I access the Virtual Library?
You can access the Virtual Library from anywhere in the world through the Oxford Institute of International Finance web site or through the Virtual Campus. In addition to having access to an impressive range of databases you will also be able to access guides to help you in your studies e.g. on citing sources. |
