If India is to achieve the projected target of $90 billion (including $50 billion exports) of IT business, demand for an IT savvy workforce will increase manifold. In such an environment, MBAs chipped with IT flavour can become the most paying combination in tomorrow's knowledge sector. Within a few years, there will be a definite rush for ITMBAs and not just management degrees as it can fetch one the "golden pen." Even IIMs and other premier institutes will fall back on IT for holding onto their corporate markets. Today, an ITMBA earns a minimum of Rs. 3.5 lakh per annum and has the potential of earning $60,000 per annum. Thus, IT plus management will provide to the learner the ability to serve as a linchpin between the engineer as a designer of system and as a manager who puts the systems to productive use.
