Administrative Training Institute, West Bengal is the apex training institution of the Government of West Bengal. The Institute commenced regular functioning at the present campus in 1981. It is located in lush green and pollution free environs in Salt Lake, the lively, modern township within Kolkata. During the last two decades, the Institute has been providing quality training to government officials, elected representatives of Panchayats and municipal bodies as well as NGOs. The training methodology lays emphasis on interactive and participatory approach.
The Institute conducts induction level training to the All India Service Officers allotted to the state and officers of the State Civil Services, in-service training for various state government departments and service cadres and specialised programmes in important areas of public administration, management in government and human resource development. Workshops and seminars on various subjects of topical interest are also organised.
The courses cover a wide range of subjects. These include Public Administration, Financial Management in Government, Economics and Development, Trainer Development, Management Development, Urban Management, Information Technology and Disaster Management.
